I love cooking Peruvian Ceviche, my favourite dish and the "numero 1" typical dish from Lima, Peru. Peruvian Ceviche is prepared with fish marinated in citrus juice and spices. The acid in the citrus juice coagulates the proteins in the fish, effectively cooking it. The amazing flavour of the limes and the chillies is perfect combination.

Bilingual cooking class

"Great fun, good company, great food. Enjoyed all of it."

Lord Vine-Lott

"A very enjoyable way to learn how to cook nice Peruvian dishes. The preparation of the food was fun and the balance of using English and Spanish during the whole class was about right. I am a beginner in Spanish and I understood everything during the class."

Avinash Jobanputra

"I enjoyed the cooking activity. We prepared and enjoyed the authentic delicious Peruvian recipe Lomo Saltado. The table was laden with all the fresh ingredients and tools and we had great fun in experiencing the Peruvian way of cooking. An opportunity to learn about and enjoy delicious Peruvian food with the added bonus of Salsa, singing and socialising. Highly recommend Martha Jesty’s bi-lingual cooking classes."

Jacqueline Harrison

"I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and appreciated Martha’s understanding that those at the cookery class had different levels of Spanish competence. It also helps that Peruvian Spanish is spoken at a slower pace than Spanish from Spain. I liked learning a new cooking technique which I have already used. Speaking Spanish in a non-class atmosphere is easier because you do not feel under so much pressure to get it right. I really enjoyed the Peruvian cooking classes."

Blair Conacher

"I enjoyed cooking and speaking Spanish, so the class was ideal for me. The food and wine were lovely and I look forward to making the dish some time soon. Before the Peruvian cooking class I didn't really know anything about Peru, so it was good to learn some facts. The atmosphere was very relaxed and everyone took part in the conversation. The dancing was so much good fun at the end of the class."
